Artificial Turf in Brooklyn: Backyards, Play Lawns & Gyms
In Brooklyn we install synthetic turf where real grass struggles most: small, shaded row-house backyards and hard-working indoor training floors. Our Brooklyn portfolio includes indoor athletic turf at The Heights Casino in Brooklyn Heights, with the club’s logo integrated into the surface, and a compact backyard turned into a turf play lawn. Here is how those jobs work and what to plan for in a Brooklyn yard.

Row-house backyards: shade, size and access
Brooklyn backyards are usually small, fenced on three sides and shaded by a big tree or the buildings around them — exactly the conditions where seeded grass thins out and turns to dirt. Synthetic turf stays green in the shade and drains through its backing after rain.
On a small footprint every edge shows, so we frame the turf with a defined border. The play lawn above sits inside a timber edge beside a brick patio, which keeps the turf tight and gives the yard a finished look. The other Brooklyn reality is access: many row houses have no side gate to the street. We plan how turf rolls, base stone and debris will move in and out before the job is scheduled.
Indoor athletic turf for gyms and clubs
Indoor turf lanes turn part of a training floor into space for sled pushes, carries and agility work. At The Heights Casino we installed a professional-grade athletic turf lane with the club’s logo integrated into the surface. If you run a gym, studio or club in Brooklyn, we can measure the space and recommend a surface for how your members train.
Thinking about a roof or terrace?
Rooftop turf in New York City can raise building-code and fire-safety questions. The NYC Building Code limits combustible decking and rooftop pavers to 20 percent of a roof’s area unless the Buildings commissioner approves more, and how that applies to turf depends on the product and the roof assembly. Before you plan a roof or terrace install, check with your building’s management or a DOB expediter; our K-92 grade is the one we list for rooftop use.

Common questions
Can you install turf in a Brooklyn backyard with no side access?
Yes. Many row houses have no side gate, so we plan the route for turf rolls, base stone and debris at the site visit, before the job is scheduled.
Do you install indoor turf for gyms in Brooklyn?
Yes. We installed an athletic turf lane with an integrated logo at The Heights Casino in Brooklyn Heights, and we can measure and quote other gyms, studios and clubs.
Which turf is best for a kids' play area in a Brooklyn yard?
KidScape 1100, our playground grade, with an 85 oz face weight. For a mixed-use yard, our lawn grades work well too; we will match the grade to how the space is used.
How much does it cost to get turf rolls delivered to Brooklyn?
Brooklyn is in our regional zone: $175 for the first pallet and $75 per extra pallet, usually 2–3 business days. Orders over $5,000 of material deliver free.
